This teahouse was founded in 1955 and is located on the main approach to Zenkoji Temple. "Teahouse" originally means "resting place," and this place was named with the idea that people would stop by for a rest when visiting Zenkoji Temple.The building is a charming former merchant's house and storehouse from the Meiji period. The owner, a mushroom primary, says, "I want to serve my guests local ingredients as much as possible. " He personally goes into the mountains of northern Shinano to pick wild plants and mushrooms, and uses them generously in his dishes, which have been well received by customers who say they can "enjoy the whole of Shinshu." You can also try sukiyaki made with Shinshu beef, mushroom and duck hotpot*, Shinshu salmon, and Shinshu golden shamo chicken. *duck pairs well with mushrooms
